Information Collection and Use
Digital Acumen is the sole owner of the information collected on the Mobile Medica Web site. Digital Acumen collects information from our users at several different points on our Web site.
In order to download software from this Web site, a user must first complete the registration form. During registration a user is required to give his or her email address for use both as contact information and a unique identifier for avoiding the need to re-register on a return visit. The email address is the only personally identifiable information we request. We use this information to contact the user about updates to services on our site and other information that may be of interest. Registration also includes a brief survey requesting profile information such as the user's handheld hardware and software characteristics and other demographics. Users may opt-out of having their email address be used to receive information from us.
We use the information we collect, in aggregate form, to improve our services and offerings, as well as to analyze trends in user demographics. From time to time, we may share the results of this aggregate analysis with our partners or third-parties. We use personally identifiable information in the form of email addresses to contact our users, who have elected to be contacted, with updates and other relevant information. We hold our users' personally identifiable information private, and do not share these email addresses with our partners or third-parties.
We store information that we collect through user survey responses, download selections, log files, and server-side connection statistics. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing and downloading preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the users personally identifiable information to provide updates and improve the content of the site for the user. This profile is used to tailor a user's visit to our Web site, and to provide aggregate data so that we may analyze and improve service. We may forward information from select third-parties via your email, but only if you elect to be contacted via your email address during your registration. We do not share your email address with third-parties; all email will originate from us. We do not share your profile with other third parties. Your profile is shared in aggregate form only.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use session ID cookies to track what pages a user accesses during a single session. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. By setting a cookie on our site, users do not have to log in more than once during a session, thereby saving time while on our site.
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet connection speed, platform type, and date/time stamp to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are tied to personally identifiable information to enable our Web-based service.
